United We Fall

A film by Bryan Law and Dan Dicks "United We Fall" is a documentary about the North American Union that is being developed right now between Canada, the United States, and Mexico. For years this topic has been debated in the news and in political circles as being a possible future for North America. In recent years, the mood has shifted and a rift is developing between those who want a Deeply Integrated North American Community, and those who wish to retain their national sovereignty. This film takes a look at both sides by interviewing both insiders and activists who have been at the heart of this heated debate. The film also looks to the broader agenda of building a world government and its implications.

Crazy Eyes

In the first hours after Newsweek tweeted it's controversial cover featuring a deer in the headlights Michele Bachmann, it quickly garnered criticism from conservatives and women. Gawker's Lauri Apple almost immediately noted "They don't call her Crazy Eyes for nothing." One of the most prominent conservative critics, Michelle Malkin, attributed it to "the conservative crazy eyes cliche." The media seemed to like the phrase. Searching for an easy way to refer to the cover, most media outlets settled on some variation of "the 'crazy eyes' Newsweek cover.

Globalization ????

What is the truest definition of Globalization?

Answer:

Tragically, Princess Diana’s death.

Question:

Why?

Answer:

An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whiskey,

followed closely by Italian paparazzi on Japanese motorcycles;

treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines.

This is sent to you by an American, using Bill Gate’s technology and you are probably reading this on your computer,

that uses Taiwanese chips and a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant; transported by Indian lorry-drivers, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen and trucked to you by illegal Mexican workers…

And that is what Globalization is.

How to Win Friends and Influence People

(This is Dale Carnegie's summary of his book, from 1936)

Fundamental Techniques in Handling People
Six Ways to Make People Like You
How to Win People to Your Way of Thinking
Be a Leader: How to Change People Without Giving Offense or Arousing Resentment

Part One
Fundamental Techniques in Handling People

Don't criticize, condemn or complain.
Give honest and sincere appreciation.
Arouse in the other person an eager want.

Part Two
Six ways to make people like you

Become genuinely interested in other people.
Smile.
Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
Talk in terms of the other person's interests.
Make the other person feel important - and do it sincerely.

Part Three
Win people to your way of thinking

The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.
Show respect for the other person's opinions. Never say, "You're wrong."
If you are wrong, admit it quickly and emphatically.
Begin in a friendly way.
Get the other person saying "yes, yes" immediately.
Let the other person do a great deal of the talking.
Let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers.
Try honestly to see things from the other person's point of view.
Be sympathetic with the other person's ideas and desires.
Appeal to the nobler motives.
Dramatize your ideas.
Throw down a challenge.

Part Four
Be a Leader: How to Change People Without Giving Offense or Arousing Resentment
A leader's job often includes changing your people's attitudes and behavior. Some suggestions to accomplish this:

Begin with praise and honest appreciation.
Call attention to people's mistakes indirectly.
Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person.
Ask questions instead of giving direct orders.
Let the other person save face.
Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be "hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise."
Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to.
Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct.
Make the other person happy about doing the thing you suggest.

The World of AXE Is 'Lick-able, Addictive !!!

If a product made the not-so-subtle promise that one use would make women want to lick all over you, it would probably grab your attention.
Sex, sex and more sex is the tried-and-true hook that the makers of AXE -- a line of male-deodorant body products -- have used in their relentless advertising to reel in young men.
"[It's] a lick-able, addictive fragrance," said Jeanine Bernstock, the company's fragrance development manager.
AXE's commercials boast that just one long spray across a young man's chest -- as we were told was the best way to wear the fragrance -- would instantly cause countless voluptuous ladies to chase after him, pawing for his affections.
AXE's marketing director, Mike Dwyer, called this the "AXE lifestyle" and said the body spray is the perfect wing-man for their target demographic of 18- to 24-year-olds who are in the "mating game."

Disney's Donald Duck WWll ... Tax Propaganda

Funded and approved by the US Department of Treasury in 1943, this Disney featurette was to encourage every good American to do his "duty" and pay his taxes, which, at this time, were at an all time high. Those who do not wish to pay or don't pay it gladly are depicted as friends of Hitler and enemies of liberty and democracy.

Contrary to what has been stated on other posts of this film, it was never "banned" by anyone. Not only was it approved by the Treasury Secretary, it received an Academy Award nomination for "Best Documentary Feature." Even President Roosevelt himself had a hand in approving Donald Duck as the main character.

Ricochet Rabbit & Droop-A-Long - Jail Break-In

Ricochet Rabbit (voiced by Don Messick) worked as a sheriff in a Western setting called Hoop 'n' Holler. Ricochet, true to his name, would bounce off all the walls yelling "bing-bing-bing!" His deputy Droop-A-Long Coyote (voiced by Mel Blanc) was never able to be as "jumpy" and would end up crashing through a window, or some similar accident except on one occasion when Ricochet and Drop-A-Long were running away from a bear. Unfortunately for both of them, the bear also managed to bounce off.

In addition to his speed, Ricochet was known for using trick bullets against his opponents (for example, a bullet that would stop in mid-flight and hover while striking the bad guy with an impossibly oversized mallet or drawing a target on his nose and punching the target, or exploding after inside bigger compartments of the bullet).

Ricochet Rabbit's catchphrase consisted of three quick bings; "bing, bing, BING!", followed by him referring to himself in the third person; "Ricochet Rabbit!"
